What trucks come in for

Diagnostics, fuel systems, turbos and transmissions make up most of what rolls into our bays. Every job starts by finding the cause, not by swapping the part the code points at.

All diesel truck repair services
01
Ford and Chevy trucks with hoods up in the Bodacious Diesel bays

Diesel diagnostics

Limp mode, check engine lights, hard starts, smoke and the intermittent problem nobody can reproduce. We find the cause of the problem you came in with, then check the rest of the truck.

Fuel system repair

High-pressure pumps, CP3 and CP4 failures, fuel pressure codes and contamination. A failed pump can send metal through the whole system, so we check all of it.

Diesel fuel injector

Injector repair

Rough idle, misfires, white or black smoke and poor power. We test the injectors before recommending replacement, on Ford, GM and Ram applications.

Close up of a turbocharger compressor wheel

Turbo repair

No boost, underboost, whistles and sticking VGT vanes. Garrett and Holset turbos are the parts we know best, and the cause gets fixed along with the turbo.

Transmission repair

Slipping, overheating, a flashing tow/haul or overdrive light and shift problems after heavy towing. Allison, Ford TorqShift, Ram 68RFE and Aisin units.

Emissions system repair

We diagnose and repair DPF, EGR, SCR and DEF faults. A plugged DPF is usually a symptom of something upstream. We do not do delete work.

Select gas trucks and SUVs

We work on these American gas models with the same techs and scan tools as our diesel work. Steering, suspension, 4x4, brakes, cooling and A/C too. Everything mechanical except body and paint.

Why trucks end up here

Clearing the code does not fix what put it there

Your truck went into limp mode for a reason. A lot of the trucks we see have already been to a dealer or another shop. The difference is the diagnosis. We confirm the complaint, then look at the rest of the truck before anyone orders a part.

  • What needs attention now, and what can safely wait
  • Where combining repairs saves you labor on the same teardown
  • No work is done without your approval
  • We answer the phone and call you with the findings

From a Google review / GMC Sierra fuel system
Dealer quote: replace the entire fuel system$37k
Bodacious: found and fixed the actual fault$1,600
"The GMC Dealership quoted us $37k to replace the entire fuel system on our Sierra. Mel and his team dug deeper into the issue and fixed it for $1600 instead of going the easier and more profitable route. I appreciate the attention to detail and the money they saved us."Sam Schultz, Google review

I can’t say enough good things about Bodacious Diesel. They’re team is knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly thorough. They took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my truck, gave clear options, and never tried to upsell unnecessary work. The repairs were done right and at a fair price. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their work. If you’re looking for reliable diesel mechanics you can trust, Bodacious Diesel is the place to go.

Work noted
Turbo, intercooler, FICM, IPR pigtail
Turbo went to hell, along with intercooler, FICM, IPR pigtail. Mel and Jeremiah worked hard to fix everything in time for me to head home. Wonderful mechanics, detailed everything for me. Great guys! Thank you so much.

The 6.6
Big fan of bodacious. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Far and away the most honest shop I've dealt with in my adult life. They provide detailed and accurate quotes, charge fair prices, don't sell unnecessary repairs, and will even give you tips on small DIY tasks. Will be bringing the clapped out 6.6 back.

Trip
Pulling a boat to Tennessee
I was under time pressure to get some work done on my truck prior to leaving for a trip. They did a fine job getting the work done (and reworking a bunch of problems that another shop didn’t solve or created) and the truck ran very well pulling my boat to Tennessee. I will continue using them because they give me confidence the truck will run right.
